Got some take-out tonight from Babylon, as I live within spitting distance, was feeling baba-ghanoushy and Sultan's is drecky.
Got a small baba-ghanoush appetizer and the chicken kabob pita.
Baba ghanoush was nicely smokey, garlicky and smooth. Not the best I've had but pretty darn good. Was dressed nicely with some chopped onion, tomato, and olive oil. Served with two large pitas which were pretty standard, probably not baked in house. What they say is "small" could easily be an app for two people
Chicken kabob pita was the rolled-style pita as opposed to the two-halves style, dressed nicely with lettuce, tomato, some grilled onions and a really tasty tahini--very fresh, very sesame-y. The chicken was tender and was cooked while I waited so was still warm and juicy. Pretty darn good.
Included in my bag was extra tahini and some hot sauce that was very fresh-tasting, flavorful without being overly hot. Suspiciously salsa rojo-ish in nature...which may be due to the fact that the cook was clearly more Mexican than Middle Eastern, but, the sauce added a nice little zip to the chicken.
Total bill with tax was 10.33. Not bad for 8:30 on a Tuesday. I'll be back, esp. given my proximity.
Wanted to try the falafel or borek but am trying to un-fry my diet for awhile to alleviate stomach issues. Perhaps next time.
