Not surprising. Their location was on relatively desolate stretch on Clark street.

Good news for fans of Ceres’ Table – posted on Chicago Mag website:

Ceres’ Table Will Reopen in Lake View
The Italian spot last seen in Uptown will take over the space vacated by Frog N Snail.
Coming down from Uptown, Ceres’ Table has found a new home in Lake View (3124 N. Broadway, 773-935-4000), in the space vacated by Frog N Snail. The original location on Clark Street closed in December; its reincarnation is pegged for April.
Ceres’ was isolated at 4882 N. Clark St., a low-foot-traffic retail nether-region south of Andersonville’s main drag. That’s in the past—along with the noise of the old dining room. “It’s not even an issue here. There are soundproofing tiles in the ceilings,” says Caryn Struif, now a partner with chef/owner Giuseppe Scurato.
There will be a new wood-burning pizza oven and a station for carpaccios and seafood crudos, along with a concomitant increase in menu items meant to share. With the shifted focus from the new menu items, the cost of a dinner will likely come down slightly.
What remains unchanged is the Italian orientation, Leticia Zenteno on desserts, and certain menu items, such as the arancini. “I can’t take it off the menu. People will try to kill me,” Scurato says. “I tried to take it off once, and everyone was so upset.” If you know one of these unhinged arancini-lovers, please try to get them to hold it together until April.

So pumped to have this place in my neighborhood. Wondering how the changes will fit in with the great menu they already had.

Ceres' Table went into soft opening last night at the new Lakeview location (3124 N. Broadway). Dined there tonight as a party of four and had a fantastic all around experience. We shared numerous dishes and there was not a single dud. The space is beautiful, wonderful beverage program (I especially loved the Mezcal based Big Night) and extremely friendly service. Was impressed with the value too; prices are more than reasonable for the quality and quantity. I am thrilled to have this in my neighborhood; I think they will be a huge success and that there is a huge need for a venue like this in Lakeview. Will definitely be returning soon.

Two surprises for me in this thread. No updates since the soft opening of the new location a year and a half ago. Second, that I never posted on the excellent meal we had a few years ago in the old location.

Really good dinner last Saturday evening in a fun space. We sat in the front, which is cozier than the back half of the restaurant that maybe just needs the lights dimmed a bit.

Started with cauliflower soup with crispy pork, marinated raisins, calabrian chile oil. And the bread was great.

Next course were two vegetable sides roasted in their wood burning oven. They were large enough to share and both were terrific and served in small cast iron pans to stay crisp and warm. Crispy Brussels sprouts roasted with bacon, dried with aged balsamic, and topped with grated pecorino. Simple, but excellent execution. Cauliflower with a fabulous raisin pesto and sprinkled with toasted pine nuts. We roast both Brussels sprouts and cauliflower frequently and these were a treat.

Since we rarely eat pasta anymore, it was a treat to order for our mains. Black pepper orecchiette with Butcher & Larder sausage, and a touch of cream. We took them up on the 4g of white truffles. Excellent dish. As good as this dish was, I liked the chestnut mafaldine with a duck leg ragu even more.

Even though we didn't have room for dessert and took half of the duck pasta home (still excellent for lunch the next day) we ordered the pumpkin cake with maple mascarpone, roasted butternut squash, candied sage, spiced pepitas.

I appreciate their corkage policy and we brought a 2001 Giacomo Conterno Cascina Francia Barolo which was perfect with the meal.
