Have you tried Do-Rite early morning (~8am)? The Buttermilk Old-Fashioned is excellent, even more so if the tray has just come from the kitchen.

I second Do-Rite. Having tried almost all the new 'gourmet' donuts; Do-Rite is the stand-out for me.

I think Stan's is overrated. Doughnut Vault old fashioneds do not do it for me. Glazed and Infused is OK; but Do-Rite is the bomb. It is what I think of when I think of airy, fluffy, fantastic, sugary goodness.

We did a donut crawl a few years ago and came to the same conclusion. For high-end donuts, Do-Rite is the best. I like Stan's too, but something about the presentation/flavor makes me balk at the price. I hear they are much cheaper in LA and at a lower price point they might be my favorite.

Do-Rite's Buttermilk Old-Fashioned is everything a doughnut should be. I get weak in the knees just thinking about it.
