In the same neighborhood as Pro Samgyubsal is Myung Ga Grill, in the former TGIFriday's on Euclid just east of Milwaukee.
It's been open for a couple months, but we just got around to trying it. TL;DR: I'll probably drive to San Soo Gab San in Morton Grove if I want to spend this much on Korean BBQ.
Service was outstanding (although tailed off a bit as it got more crowded -- we were among the first in the place that evening). The grills are pure gas, no charcoal, and they replace the grate between dishes (minimum 2 BBQ dishes per table). We had the marinated short ribs (which didn't seem particularly marinated), and the pork belly, which was very meaty and tasty.
Banchan was pretty good, although missing a few favorites (no bean sprouts, no julienned radish in sweet vinegar). Novel banchan included wide thin disks of radish, and fried and seasoned okra.
Along with the banchan was a mixed salad with a spicy dressing I liked quite a bit (and apparently so did my shirt), and an outstanding beef soup.
Prices seemed a bit high, ranging from $20 to $38 (prices on the online menu are significantly lower than in the restaurant). Except for the pricing, it was fine, but the banchan is much better elsewhere, and charcoal is always better.
They've got a pretty extensive lunch menu from $8-12, might be a good spot for the LTH North Lunch Group.
