That's funny. I emailed Hecky the day of Obama's first post-election press conference to ask him if he felt at all vindicated by Obama referring to himself as a "mutt." I didn't get a response, but I suppose this answers the question!

A local newspaper had an article about Hecky's reaction. The food-related portion of the article has a description of the special which mostly matches the previous descriptions in this thread (tips, link, wings, fries, and white bread). The article doesn't mention if the drink is included. It implies that more than one hot link is in the special. The quoted price for the special is $7.50 .

Ever since Barack Obama's first press conference as president-elect, Evanston restaurateur Hecky Powell said calls have been pouring in.

"It just feels like Obama gave me a pardon," a not unhappy Powell said Tuesday.
