Haven’t been anywhere new in forever. Was thinking Marchesa or BLVD but wondering if you have any suggestions. Prefer not too loud or too trendy, food more important than vibe.

    Thanks.

Bellemore is a really stunning place and can definitely accommodate a more romantic evening.

. It does look lovely! Menu has a LOT of mushrooms, which we don’t care for, so I’d like to keep looking.

I don't know if you have any other distance or cuisine parameters, but I'd recommend Kitsune or Passeretto. Perhaps not the most romantic rooms (at least in a classical sense), but excellent and unique food with attentive service. Perhaps a little long in the tooth, but also excellent is Band of Bohemia (late 2015). While probably not "HOT" in the Randolph street sense, they are all relatively new and have great food.

I have been to BLVD and it's very Glam! The food is good and they have a nice emphasis on bubbly. It's a beautiful room, shiny and new.

I wasn't a huge Bellemore fan, but the new Booth One (formerly Pump Room) was really great and I have heard wonderful things about Marchesa. I also really like Heritage.

That was my first thought too. If you haven't been there, go! It's great!

The room is indeed beautiful, but the food is merely good, not outstanding or memorable. And merely good isn't good enough.

Also, if you haven't been to S.K.Y., it's awesome. It's also busy, somewhat noisy, and a bit cramped, but the food is amazing. The atmosphere is that of a bustling bistro, if that works for you. I've also enjoyed recent meals at Giant and at its sister restaurant City Mouse. But these all may fail your "not too loud or trendy" criterion.

Not exactly sure of your distinction between "hot", which is seemingly good, and "too trendy", which is bad, but will try to help. It would be very easy to avoid mushrooms at Bellemore, just mention the aversion in your reservation. We had a lovely anniversary lunch there, and think it would fit the bill perfectly. Marisol in the MCA might also be a contender. Aba might be too trendy and noisy for your taste, but is new and hot, and would be romantic if you get a nice rooftop table. Possibly also Somerset. Depending on how you define "new", options might expand quite a bit. Happy Anniversary!

Well, we ended up at Truluck’s. It was a very nice dinner, the food was all really good except the very weird cheese grits. Our waitress was a bit too efficient when we walked in a few minutes early, but we slowed her down easily.

Will have to try these places mentioned upthread though, many sound excellent. Thanks all.

Fascinating - a seafood-focused restaurant I've never heard of, part of a 12-location chain. Adding it now to my constantly-expanding list of places to try. Thanks for getting back to us and mentioning it!
