The photo on their FB page was so tempting that I had the Ruebecue today from the Clinton location. I'm really glad I got a side of coleslaw to cut the richness of the sandwich. The marbled rye bun was on the dry side. This was a good sandwich, but I'll stick with their regular brisket.

I work near here and have turned my colleagues onto the spot. This is really good for the loop at a decent price point. However, I don't think it compares to Smoque or some of the other better spots around town. The breakfast hash is an incredible deal and I highly recommend it.

Got a hash this morning and noticed that they are now doing biscuits and biscuit sandwiches for breakfast. Also I didn't get any egg on my hash and I didn't notice until I got to the office. That said I swear they improved the crispiness of their potatoes.

That article also states they will be opening at Belmont & Sheffield in Lakeview in January

and they just rolled out their brisket chili today....priced @ just under $4 for an 8oz cup. Has a nice combination of sweet/spicy/smoky + 2 beans.

Now that we are in the death throes of winter, I'm being slightly more ambitious with my lunch selection. I'm really glad that Blackwood BBQ is so close to my office, because their fatty brisket is second to none in Chicago, IMHO.

Also, this week they are doing a Reu-Be-Cue special: it's corned beef brisket on a marble rye bun with a special sauce and pickles. The special sauce seems to be a blend of their South Carolina and Alabama style sauces. It was a good sandwich, but the corned beef cure wasn't overpowering.

New 'chopped' style salad coming to the stores on Monday. Three new vinaigrette dressings along with additional toppings thrown on. Looks like lunch just got a whole lot tastier!

For St. Patrick's Day: Corned beef spiced and smoked a la Blackwood's brisket at the original Lake St. spot. So, basically something like a pastrami or smoked meat. Pretty darn good.
