The Moonlighter, fun outdoor casual in Logan Square

After a fun visit to the Randolph Street Antique Market on Saturday with daughters 1 and 3, we dropped off the youngests finds at her condo and walked two blocks to the Moonlighter. All of us mentioned that we've wanted to try it, but hadn't.

Saturday afternoon was a perfect day for a late lunch on their large patio. Three of us got the Portland vegan burger. They use the Beyond Burger and smash griddle it. I like the Beyond Burger, but my wife and daughters usually don't, feel they are too meat-like. Everyone loved these! Really seemed like a good, griddled burger. Excellent fries. Daughters split a burger and Beyond tacos, which they liked, but not as much as the burger. The girls loved their pina coladas on a beautiful afternoon, I had a delicious Broker's gin negroni on the rocks.

We will be back, especially when the weather cooperates enough to sit outside.

While having some awesome cocktails at Scofflaw with a friend, my daughter texted me to see if I had dinner yet and if I wanted to go to the Moonlighter for a burger. My daughters have become obsessed with their Portland burgers, and chill vibe, and frequently bring friends. Several of their friends couldn't believe it was a plant-based burger.

The Portland burgers were very satisfying and excellent crisp fries. Wednesday evening was trivia night, but it wasn't overwhelming and we didn't pay attention and just chatted.
