At the recommendation of a friend, my wife and I had dinner here last week. This place has been open for about a year. Not a huge place. Maybe a dozen tables or so. We were seated fairly quick for a Saturday at 5pm. Lots of folks waiting for carryouts and a steady stream of deliveries going out.

Service was quick. A basket of yummy bread was brought to the table. Rarely do my wife and I order the same entree. Usually she mooches off whatever I order. We deviated from the norm and each ordered a Lechon Plate and shared an order of maduros. Huge portions of delectable meaty goodness along with white rice and beans arrived shortly thereafter along with the maduros. Everything was quite good.

I'm a card carrying member of the Clean Plate Club. However, I didn't manage to finish my lechon. It was combined with my wife's leftovers for the doggie bag to go home. Apparently, she ate it all for breakfast the following morning. 8)

When our server brought over the containers for the leftovers, she mentioned that the Bistec was even better than the Lechon. I guess we'll need to go back.

Noticed Jibaritos on Harlem the other day, looks like I'll be stopping for lunch soon. Did you get a glance at the jibaritos?

Mr. Beef and Pizza, tasty Italian Beef, and Forno Rosso are near as well. Nottoli on Harlem, which I like quite a bit, is further North. For reasons I can't quite put my finger on Nottoli has replaced Riviera in my Harlem Ave Italian deli line-up.
