I had to reference Urban Dictionary for the word, "munt".

I record the show and just watched this episode last night.

Ronnie, I think he's more than a little of each, and probably more of the second.

    Alpana's comeback was awesome.

I feel sorry for RHR and Robert's. While the CP producers like 'personalities' on the show, the owners didn't deserve the flippant comments of this joker. I love RHR and while I haven't been to Robert's only have heard good things.

On the other hand, at no point in the show did he ever say “amazeballs”.

Also on the bright side, he was so muddled and conflicting, RHR and Robert's likely won't suffer from his comments. If anything, Entente might have appreciated not being associated with him. Alpana doesn't usually clap back like that, so he was working her last nerve as well.

Cheeseburger with mustard and pickle, shrimp and fries are my RHR siren song.

Though he said Chicago enough times that a drinking game where one did a shot of Malort each time Joe, aka Mr. M, said Chicago would result in one angry drunk. :)

I just watched the entire three part show on Check Please, he did not like Robert's pizza, said he liked "Chicago style" pizza without elaborating what he meant. I assume he meant Lou M, but you know how assumptions go.

The young woman who did RHR seems a lovely person, as did the other woman on the show. Joe, aka Mr. M, not so much. ;)~

Hat tip to Alpana S, she is perfect for Check Please.

Edited to add Entente was Joe's, aka Mr. M, restaurant of choice for Check Please.

The two ladies loved the RHR so I think anyone watching would consider him an anomaly. I remember an episode of Check, Please when they went to Marie's. The hipster guy claimed to love "retro" places but when actually in a real one such as Marie's, he didn't like it at all. Apparently he likes brand spanking new places that are designed to look retro. He made a fool of himself.

I just watched the whole episode and agree with this and all of the prior comments, especially the relentless mentioning of "Chicago".

My main impression was that it seemed like he didn't know what the point of the show was. His commentary was as if each recommendation is on trial to determine if it's the best at what they do, as opposed to one person's suggestion of a restaurant they like. There seemed to be no awareness of the fact that each place will be judged by viewers through their own circumstances, so let's inform them of what each place offers. Instead, he thought his being on the show was a form of challenge by each place to prove to him they're better than his favorite in the respective cuisine.

As a preface, I love RHR and also agree with most of the Check Please assessments on this thread.

However, I find it hypocritical and immature that the very same moderator who reprimands people for not keeping threads "about the food" or for going off topic not only violated his own principles, but personally attacked some guy who might or might not be a munt. There have now been like 8-10 posts on the RHR thread (plus this one haha) about this guy.

This is prime example of why so many valuable contributors have defected from this site, which now amounts to little more than a gathering place for lots of cliques with a herd mentality and no shortage of munts.

Guilty as charged. I moderate what happens within our confines. What happens outside our walls is not my purview. My role is not to moderate the entire universe, only these forums. I have opinions -- both positive and negative -- and I will express them here but you will not see me post similar comments about content posted here, or those who post it. In this case, I posted about an insufferable person on a tv show.

I was at Redhot Ranch at about 9:30 on Friday night. The place was hopping, with several first-timers in house. It was fun to see. El Jefe told me that they'd been slammed on the Saturday after their segment aired but that it had leveled off a bit since then.

The RHR double-burgers we had at that outing were as great as ever.

Hope they will still have a parking lot. In the google photo it looks like there is a parking lot on the west side of the building. Would be great if that lot is theirs. Without a lot, parking in that location will be a challenge

I spoke with manager at the western location and he confirmed the parking lot theirs.
It's also bigger than the lot on western.

Indoor seating at the new location?

I sure hope they can have it similar to the Ashland setup with indoor seating but this building looks to be the same size as the one on Western. It's easier to reach the Western one from the Kennedy late at night.

Ultimately, the source is RHR’s web site. Moreover, it is clear that the reporter did research well beyond possibly seeing the notice here.
