 Ever had Chicago Street Pizza? Not too shabby for the suburbs when you don't want "bricks" (my Dallas friend's term for deep dish Chicago style pizza). They have several locations in "Chicagoland" and a few have been taken over by a concept calling themselves Pizza Corner (featuring the same menu).

Easily my favorite is the Western pizza (my wife and I have dubbed The Heart-Attack Pizza). A delightful combination of bbq, bacon, sausage, onion! Even if I order an XL, I somehow finish it all...

After spending the last 10 years in exile in the Dallas Ft Worth area I find it difficult to believe that anyone from Dallas could find fault with any type of Pizza to be found in the Chicago area. The county in which I lived (right near DFW airport) and included Ft. Worth voted Pizza Hut the #1 Pizza 3 yrs. in a row. I drove 30 + miles to North Dallas for Pizza (a small mom& pop place from Kenosha)

With the abundance of wonderful independant Pizza places in the Chicago area the only reason I can see why people would go to a franchise is price.

While I agree that the DFW area doesn't have the best pizza (your Pizza Hut comment was humorous), that's not what my post was about. :? My comment about my buddy calling deep dish "bricks" was a simple side note.

I find Chicago Street Pizza to be one of the many "franchises" around the area to be quality 'za. But if we're to get rid of franchises then I guess this evenings trip to Giordano's is out...

Their pizza may or may not have fresh ingredients, but their web site has certainly gone stale. The Store Locator has 12 places listed. The About Us page boasts " Since 1999, Chicago Street Pizza has developed eleven franchise stores with six more planned by year end 2005. By the year 2002, Chicago Street Pizza will have over 200 stores thorughout the Chicagoland area." Huh?

I liked their pizza but the 2 that were close to me closed down.

Based on their locations, shouldn't they call the place "West Chicago Street Pizza"???
