Took a day off today, ventured down 111th street toward Harlem to try a place called
Atotonilco...time for a Torta and I was very pleasantly surprised. As a member for a bit on this site I had inquired about good food in and around Beverly..this was recommended and I must agree.
Being Ash Wednesday and all I did not sample the Goat meat tacos or beef head Burritos, Birra and Cabeza respectively, nor the Ostiones (Oysters) nor the Coctel de Cameron, although I am sure the Pope would forgive me on those choices...But wonder of wonders i decided upon a simple Ahuacates Torta, Avacado, creamy, on a fresh baked Long Torta, with just the right amount of tomato, lettuce, onion and sour cream, with a side of pickled carrot slices...Nirvana..Do try them
