rehersal dinner

I have a friend who is getting married and needs suggestions of good places for rehersal dinners. It seems as if at least 50 people would be attending. Any places that are classy, but not way too expensive?

I just booked one at Goose Island on Clybourn for 30-35 people in May. It looks like you're going to be in the minimum $25-35 per person range anywhere you look. My son and daughter in law wanted bar-type food, and Goose Island has a nice selection of private party rooms and offers their mini-burgers as one of the choices on your buffet (virtually all the places we looked at will serve buffet-style and have various drink options.) We also looked at Jake Melnick's, Jak's Tap and Mon Ami Gabi.

We're having our rehersal dinner at Flat Top Grill -- a chain that does build your own stir-fry thing. We will have a lot of guests from out-of-town and in the past we've found this place to be a big hit with the parents. It's $13.98 per person without drinks. We eschewed the bar package for an open bar (probably a big mistake -- my cousins are coming), and I can't remember the prices on the different packages.

I can't tell you if it's a good idea yet, because it hasn't taken place.

I don't know what area your looking to have your rehersal dinner at but we had ours in Highwood at this fantastic place called Del Rio. It's one of those places you can picture the old mobsters hanging out in. They will work with you on your menu and beverage choices as well. The upstairs dining area is what they use for large parties such as this and we had about 50 people in there with plenty of room to spare. They also have literally the largest wine list I have ever seen, it's like six(6) of these 3-ring binders that are all 4''inches thick. Good food, great atmosphere, and one hell of a wine list what else do you need?

Yeah that's code for reconisance mission where in you make mental notes of the closest exits and anything that might become useful in the event you need a quick weapon for self defense. I always suggest the smaller canedle holders. Take the candle and fling at approaching enemy combatant while using holder to fend off advancing blows.

Greek Islands has a nice room for private parties, I attended a rehearsal dinner there and I know it was not overly expensive. The service is great and they have free valet for everyone. Many Greektown restaurants would be a good option for a reasonably priced rehearsal dinner.
