Here's a challenge for you LTH.

Can anyone direct me to a good Dominican restaurant in Chicago? My father would take me to a bunch scattered all over Humboldt Park when I was kid... Problem is I can't find any more these days.

    Any ideas?

Vital Info makes an offhand reference to one here, did he or anybody else ever post in full about it?

Tropical Taste is (was?) Dominican, as was the fine but short-lived ice cream place, Miami Flavors. RST wrote of the sancocho at TT, below. Chicago has far fewer Dominicans than does NY, but we have a fair number. Puerto Ricans have a much more established restaurant culture and, frankly, Dominican food does not have that much to add to what is already well represented by the PR and Cuban places around town.

The Tropical Taste on Ashland is what has long since been Rudy's Taste (Guatemalan). Is the other one still around?
