Looking for a good lunch place near Elmhurst,Oakbrook. I feel like I might have to settle for Mon Ami Gabi, but would rather have something non chain and interesting.

    Any thoughts?

You aren't telling us whether you need something fancy enough for non-chowists  . If not, there's a good recommendation from Giallo in this thread http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t= ... t=oakbrook Banda E Nawaz.

If you need a "dress up" place, I'd recommend the Oakbrook Terrace Costa's.

I always like Antico Posto at the Mall. It is Lettuce but low key, simple, well prepared, Italian food.

How about Lisle? I just found out Friday that I will be at my law firm's office about three or four times a month, and I know literally zip about Lisle, let alone where to have a decent lunch! We're on Cabot Drive (wherever the heck that is) just south of IL 88. HELP!!

    Peg,

In Lisle, there is ddickson's favorite:

    FABULOUS NOODLES
    ( 630 ) 305 - 8868
    4663 OLD TAVERN RD,LISLE,IL,60532

Exit I88 at route 53 south, and proceed to route 34, west (about a mile). Turn right at light and follow ramp onto Ogden/route 34. Continue to the third light (I believe the third, but it is Old Tavern), and turn right. Fabulous Noodles is in the strip mall about 1/4 mile up on the right.

You can get an idea what to expect from reading this thread.

...and thanks for providing the address! Much obliged. Precisely the sort of place I was looking for, needless to say.
