Has anyone had the opportunity to eat at Arnie Salerno's? They are located in Mt Prospect in the same plaza as Photo's. This is my favorite spot to stop for a quick slice. The crust is somewhere between thin and thick (more on the thick side) but it isn't bready. There is a great balance between the sauce and the cheese. The pizza is cooked more on the well done side (i.e. cheese is browned but not burnt) which I really love.
Everything is made to order so it can take 5 - 10 minutes to get a sandwhich or entree. If I have the time I really enjoy the Pollo panini. This sandwich consists of chicken, basil, olive oil, roasted red peppers and provolone. Great sandwhich. The pastas look great, especially the baked mostacholli (sp).
There is some much fast food fare in this area that this establishment is a welcome relief to the lunch doldrums.
