Recommendation for a Solo Diner from Boston

Looking for recommendations for my first trip to Chicago. Will be in just for Sunday night, staying in the 600s on North Michigan and dining alone. Would like someplace in the mid price range ($20-30 entrees) - not seafood - get lots of that back home - any type of cuisine - just something memorable.

A seat at the bar at Avec would be a great choice for solo dining. You'll find a lot written here if you do a quick search. Fantastic food (mostly small plates), energetic atmosphere, great wines by the carafe, etc.
