I'm confused about the law, the talk of the repeal and so forth.

I also super rarely go out to eat.

We're going to Naha tomorrow (first time out since last winter), and geez, they just do a terrific fois gras (or at least used to).

Am I supposed to just forget it? Or how do I try to order it?

Not the end of the world, they do have other great dishes, but....

No foie until at least November when it will be back before the Counsel, and more likely until not after the February election.

For all those foie gras fans out there (and not that this should be a determining issue in a vote), Todd Stroger voted for the ban, had announced that he will not reconsider that vote, and is running for Cook County Board President in November.

    Edited to add:

The foie gras ban should not influence a decision to go to Naha. That is one of my favorite places. The food is similar in quality to Blackbird, but the room is far nicer. In my humble opinion, it ranks below only a few places in Chicago -- Alinea, Avenues, Tru, and a few others -- and the price is far more reasonable.

Have fun and make sure to report on the meal.

    As for Naha,

Yeah, I didn't make the reservation there for the fois, really had no confidence I could get it.

What I love about Naha is the only things that seem to keep it from being 5 stars is that it's more casual. The food could hardly be better if you like that style.

And, different from Blackbird - there will be game birds. I love game birds and their kinda hard to get fresh in the suburbs....

Naha is beyond great. Carrie is an outstanding cook and uses a lot of green market foods. Get there a little early and have the mezze plate in the bar. You will need at least 3 of you to share it before apps and entrees, but it is unbelievable. Homemade Armenian string cheese and spice cure beef.
I have had foie lately, now that I'm in Beantown. The ban is the reason I moved from Chicago and took a job in Boston three months ago. Just kidding.
