    Hello friends!

I'm organizing a brunch get-together for people at work (about 8 of us total) and I thought dim sum would be awesome (whoa~ I'm rhyming). Anywayz, since there are a few dim sum virgins among my group, I thought a place with cart service would be good. Which restaurant would you recommend for a medium-sized group for a weekend dim sum- Phoenix or Three Happiness? I have been to Phoenix before but not Three Happiness. In terms of quality of food, which is better?

    Thanks! :D

    Hi marias23,

Check out these threads that cover the issue of Dim Sum pretty well. Not much has changed lately as far as Chicago dim sum offerings.

Have to say that the quality and selection at Phoenix is usually better, and more expensive. I've only had dim sum at 3 happiness during the week, when there is no cart service-it is very inexpensive. For overall flavor and selection I side with Phoenix.

Phoenix has consistent dim sum and is pretty clean. Neat for a first-timer to see the steaming carts. But I prefer the dim sum at Mountain View or Shiu Wah in the Chinatown Square Mall. I realize that they don't have carts but Mountain View does have a 4-color picture paper menu where you check off the items you want. That's just as good or sometimes better because you can take your time to decide what you want. Just don't visit the washrooms if you can.
