Pieros Pizza: https://pieropizza.com/
BWB Rocks ( Burgers, Wings and Bowls) : https://www.bwb.rocks/
Ravinia Brewing ( Tacos, Burritos and Quesadillas ) : https://www.raviniabrewing.com/
Abigails ( upscale continental ) : http://abigails493.com/
There is also Viaggio, but I don't think they are doing take out.

FWI, ( and at the risk of turning this into a Burt's place type of thread ) this Piero's is not as good as my memory of some of the old Piero's.

Seconded. They were my top choice for thin and in my rotation of deep dish/stuffed. Now I have to drive to Giordano's in downtown Evanston for thin because the independent options (La Rosa, Marco Roma's, & Panino's) just haven't been good enough (Napolita excluded, just not a style for carry-out).Diane wrote:I was so bummed when Pieros closed here...lougord99 wrote:There use to be a bunch of Piero's. thaiobsessed wrote:Anyone have recommendations for good Indian food at a place that's open for takeout? We're on the north side of the city and Tava is our usual go-to but they are temporarily closed. We're craving butter chicken (or something similar) and good naan. We don't mind a bit of a drive now that traffic is light.

I've actually had that on my list to try, we'll order from them this week--Thanks Ronnie!
Have you tried Lefty's Pizza Kitchen in Wilmette? They supposedly have a great thin pizza that is cooked in a pan and finished on the oven deck. I can think of many places I'd get over Gioradano's. I've only had the deep dish at Lefty's (off-shoot of Burt's) which is fantastic. I was excited to hear they were planning on opening a second location by my house in the old Blaze Pizza spot in downtown Highland Park right as the virus hit. They probably would be open by now as the owner (John) said it wouldn't take more than a month to get up and running. Hope that is still going to happen. Anyway, give their thin (and deep dish) a try.bweiny wrote:Seconded. They were my top choice for thin and in my rotation of deep dish/stuffed. I've had Lefty's many many times, I believe I started the thread on them, but it's been deep dish only. Their thin-crust looks okay, but I haven't heard enough direct praise. They already get all my non-thin business as long as they're open when I'm ordering.Ram4 wrote:Have you tried Lefty's Pizza Kitchen in Wilmette? I can't criticize it because I haven't tried it, but the inclusion of tacos and all sorts of other casual foods colored my view in a negative way. I respect NY-style foldable when done right. Giordano's isn't thin enough to be tavern-style, but it isn't bendable like NY, New Haven. I don't know what it is that's disliked, that creates the definite preference against.cilantro wrote:Gigio’s is pretty decent, although not by Central. I’d definitely choose that over Giordano’s.

Glad you will try them, Becca. The food isn't just good Indian food for the area, it's good Indian food for wherever. One of my takeout destinations during quarantine.
