    Trex:

I am not the one to judge authenticity, but I can't imagine that chicken tikka masala should be watery.

I've had pretty good results at Tiffin for dinner in the past, but by past I mean I haven't been for about six years. Times change, restaurants change...

If you can't discern a recommendation from past research, maybe you should describe some things you do like and see if people can help you target better. Obviously, "Indian" means a plethora of things.

If CTM is your go-to dish, I'm not sure what to recommend, but I have been a fan of Udupi Palace (vegetarian South Indian) for many years. I think they have a great palak paneer and channa masala, and I like most of the many dosai too.

I also saw you live in Lincoln Square. I think some folks have had lesser results, but I've had two or three particularly good meals at Essence of India at Lincoln and Wilson.

In any case, stick around here and I'm sure people will be able to help you separate the wheat from the chaff in Chicago eating.

i am full blooded hindu, but lived here my whole life (as opposed to living in india)

anyway, i would never consider eating any meats for indian food. i love meat, don't get me wrong. but when i go indian, it's always vegetarian.

i just skip right over all the chicken and beef (heh) dishes.
