after wasting a little time on a recnt Friday around Warrenville and Naperville, I decided to make the easy glide east to find a perch sandwich -

1st stop I rolled into was over in Merrilville - drove a little further than I originally planned but its all good -

Hydads - heard this joint could be a little smokey but I ventured in anyways.



$5 boilermakers worked - places that bend you over for a round blow. - Didnt get around to eating - like I said way too smokey - maybe Ill venture in for lunch and give their Perch a try - prices looked right

I wasnt going to come away empty handed - I popped back over to Schererville Lounge and enjoyed a Lake Perch sandwich from there - 2nd time Ive eaten there and this perch sandwich was top notch - Schererville Lounge is quickly becoming a favorite - picture of sandwich and address upthread.


Edit - glad I didnt finish this draft - got out for some fun in the Schererville area on this past Sat.- Trampoline park - etc.

I popped back into Hydads for lunch - hoping the smoke level would be down - I lucked out - only a handfull of folks there(all smoking lol) - Went for the perch sandwich ($6.99 - with chips) - figured I had lived my childhood years with my dads ashtray and lit cigarette under my nose at dinner I would survive this -

Way too dark to get a pic - Plus i'm getting lazy about pictures at times - sorry - - but a good sandwich - 4 perch filets, price was right, beer was cold and the shot was cheap - kind of like Hydads.

I headed down to the Crown Point area to waste some time - stopped in at The Sandbar on Cedar lake - cool waterfront spot - I was a little full from lunch, but was really tempted by their bluegill basket($8), or their perch dinner - Like I said a little full, but good views of the lake and $2 drafts made for a good visit

Timed it right to get the my new favorite place at 4pm - Schererville Lounge - fun solo on a Friday night like earlier in this post for a sandwich at the bar - also fun on Saturday night for some perch and some spider of the sea. -



Schererville Loungs lake perch never disappoints- looking for an excuse to head that way this weekend again.

As someone who was raised in Naperville and has family in "The Region" (NW Indiana), I find the idea of an easy glide to be somewhat laughable.

timing and state of mind I guess - lol

once on I355 heading south I was 1 hour from Marseilles, or about 1 hour from The Region - I hadnt had my fill of fun or food for a Friday so it was an easy choice.
