6939 W North Ave, Oak Park
Closed.
I had stopped by a couple of weeks ago during posted hours, wasn’t open and it didn’t look good.
Driving by today confirmed. Tables and chairs gone, office furniture stacked by the window.
‘Twas a quirky place when in the trailer on Armitage, not so much on North Ave.
Had some unusual sausages.

What I heard, When the original owner passed his sister in Florida got the land and business. A nice couple from the area bought the business and were allowed to operate in that location until they found a new location. The guy that had worked there forever told me they would be in the new location in several months. Took years. I never understood the new location for a lot of reasons 1. No parking 2. Onion roll 2 doors down 3. Michael's Beef house just east and Buona Beef to the west both with parking. The place was previously a hair salon so it wasn't for the equipment. When I saw the cost of a Beef at $8.75 I knew they were doomed. I would have thought a place on Harlem would have been best. I believe there is no place like it from Mickey's in Oak Park to Luke's at Belmont.
