This was soo funny. Everyone at the restaurant I work at was in uproar, screaming, yelling, and calling for this kid's head, until we relized it was a prank. Bravo ChiReader

Does it say anything about the state of dining out these days that despite seeming completely unfeasible, I still found the idea of Crib entirely possible?

My initial reaction was shocked belief about Crib, followed closely by sheepish bemusement. IMHO, this was a savier April Fool's article than Trump buying TOC.

Crib isn't really as far-fetched as it seems. In the early 1980s I went to a luncheon sponsored by Good Housekeeping magazine in the lighthouse off of Navy Pier.

Exactly. What made "The Crib" such an effective April Fool's gag is the current food scene where one is often left wondering how much is done merely to shock and to be the trendiest restaurant of the moment.

For years John Gregorio has been telling gullible out-of-towners (and gullible in towners) that there was a Kentucky Fried Chicken at the crib, for the boaters.
