That would be choice; they catered our anniversary party as well as a work event for my wife and were phenomenal both occasions. Great people, fantastic food, excellent service & very reasonable prices.

A few years ago, they were not doing functions this large. Has this changed?

Cathy2 - It's been too long! Yes, we cater events up to 150 guests now (we will even go slightly over based on the venue, menu, circumstances). We work at a lot of great venues including:

    Greenhouse Loft

    Ovation
    http://ovationchicago.com/

Salvage One is great too, but books about 2 years out.

Our recommended vendors list is a great resource for your newly engaged niece (as well as offering a full list of our recommended venues): http://www.figcatering.com/images/recom ... endors.pdf

    CathyDos,
We got married at the Lacuna Artist Lofts last May and went with food trucks. There were about 180 guests; it was really great, especially if budget is a concern.

While they both have family in the northern suburbs. Many guests will be from out of town wishing to stay in the city. They are looking at city and suburbs until they find whatever appeals to them.

My job is to given ideas, which this thread and others have been greatly mined. :D

    Thanks!

I cannot recommend Boutique Bites enough. We used them for our wedding a few years ago - about 120 people - and people are still talking about how amazing the food was. Not only that, but of the 3 caterers that we had priced out, they were by far the most reasonable. Elaina was fantastic to work with and helped us personalize the menu to exactly what we wanted.

I got married downtown at the Trump in October of 2014. Best food I (or anyone else at the wedding) has ever had at a wedding.

Our reception was at Spiaggia. Great view. Phenomenal food. But they raised the price quite a but even before our wedding (2012). We were locked into the previous year prices.

If you are looking for a caterer, my soon to be son-in-law who was sous at North Pond does private catering at very sensible pricing and very special food. Let me know via PM if you want to talk with him.

    Hi,

I saw this article yesterday: Funeral Homes Could Be the Hot New Wedding Venue. I have been taking an informal survey and have not yet found person who thought this was a worthy choice. I find I like the idea, though I am my own best company on this so far.

    Cathy2
