If it keeps the riff-raff from coming into the city then I'm all for it.
My my, you ARE the charmer, aren't you Norman?
Any relation to the Norman, of Bates fame, perhaps?
What WOULD your mother say?

Anyone know any details? Is the new place at least owned by the same restaurant group? Maybe they'll still accept the gift certificates.

I remember I was a tot when I was there last, and I could swear I heard a cow moo. I thought, that's odd, they must slaughter 'em here too. Boy, this steak is tasty.

Have always wondered about that place on the occasions we've visited Retro Bistro. Guess I'll never know.

The Corned Beef Factory Sandwich Shop plans to open in the coming months in the Fulton Market area, focusing on just four sandwiches: corned beef, pastrami, Italian beef and a hot dog.
The under-construction, cash-and-carry concept will anchor the small storefront at 1009 W. Lake Street, across from the Morgan Green Line El station.
Its namesake products won't travel far. Behind the sandwich shop sits its longstanding wholesale arm, formerly known as Ex-Cel Corned Beef Co. Inc., which was recently purchased by new owners who are launching the sandwich shop.

Longhorn is doing soft openings next week as I am an invited guest to one.

One of the sexpositive groups I habitue ha(s|d) its monthly munch at Black Cow three times a year. The food was average, but cooked properly. Beer specials were OK (It was generally Leinenkugel.). You are probably uttering that the munch is less about the food than about the company. For me, the highlight of the evening though, was having ramen and singing karaoke at Karaoke House Nina in the west part of that mall after the munch.JoelF wrote: We'd visited there just a few weeks ago: Very good burger, cooked to desired medium rare. One was a bacon/blue, the other a patty melt which hit all the marks I've been missing since Bogie's closed a couple years ago. Now I have to start my search over again... or be willing to get my patty melts under the fluorescent fast-food lights at Culver's.
