    Hi,

    From their posted hours, either they have a soft opening or you need to wait until Thursday. I will pass by in a few minutes, I will update.

    Per their Facebook posts Th - Mon is their regular schedule. Hard opening was Sunday.

    Note that despite their claims of serving “barbecue in its truest fashion”, they don’t. The ribs are strictly grilled and they make a point of claiming “no smoke”. On the good hand, they also brag about no “fall off the bone”.

    This doesn’t mean it won’t tase good, but it ain’t no BBQ.

    Might be a soft reopen? They just posted on Facebook that the grand reopening is Mon 10/28. Either way, I'm so stoked.

    I posted about this before. They are basing their business on the old Babyback in Northbrook which was pretty much broasted chicken, ribs and shrimp. Very simple menu that people around here usually are ok with if they know they like the food. It's the suburban "BBQ" of my youth - no smoke, just a grill and sauce. Not my preferred way to have it, but if it's good it will be a welcome addition.

    Sorry to see a local business go, but all the same not surprised. The ambiance was a step above your average corner burger and dog joint; unfortunately so were the prices but not the food.

    I've been working on this map for the last week or so. It is new food establishments for 2019, based on license issuances for food establishments. Only for the city of Chicago - no suburbs (yet).

    This could be a formal sit down restaurant or hole in the wall with barely any seats to a pizza delivery place. I did include some food markets (a lot of bodega type of markets on the West and South Side), but I did not include places like The Dollar Store or gas stations. Also some places went under new management, but did not close - those weren't included and neither were places that have already closed (a handful of places).

    I'm sure it's not totally perfect, but I'm hoping it'll be of use to some people. It's hard to keep up with openings all over the city and there are definitely some interesting ones here that probably haven't been talked about. If you click on each marker, it'll tell you the name of the establishment, type of food, website (if any), etc.

    I'll be updating this most days as the new license information comes out every Tuesday through Saturday morning.

    https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mi ... 00004&z=11

    Legend:
    * Blue = restaurant/standard food establishment
    * Green = Coffee shop/cafe
    * Purple = Dessert, Bakery
    * Red = Food Market
    * Black = Unknown

    Also, some of the dessert places could have more than just dessert as food. A great example of this are the La Michoacana ice cream places that seem to be popping up in a large handful of neighborhoods in town. It is mostly dessert but they also serve some Mexican type of food.

    Went to the Glendale Heights location on Tuesday. Totally agree on the dog had all the necessary accoutrements Mustard, onions, relish, pickles, tomatoes, sports and celery salt, downside skinless Vienna beef dogs, toasted split top bun that fell apart. I Really liked the original double, the totally crispy edges reminded me of Schoop's The fries while frozen were shoe strings which are my favorite frozen fries. They also had "Fry Sauce" which I really liked it had a hint of Thousand Island with both regular and Jalapeno.

    It looks like Turkitch, the ever increasing popular Turkish bakery, cafe, etc in Lakeview has opened up in the French Market downtown per a Facebook post of theirs. I believe they are also planning on opening in Rafaello hotel in Gold Coast or maybe it's already there.

    https://www.facebook.com/Turkitch.USA/p ... 0907611783

    For those of you who do not know, the French Market is located at 131 N Clinton St.

    Steve Dolinsky of ABC7 did a feature on them the other day and mentions they have plans to open up 5 more locations.

    Thanks guys! I greatly appreciate it. Truly daunting to keep track of all openings in a city like Chicago where new places are opening up every single day - many that never get any media press. Even stuff close to downtown like that new Cameroonian restaurant in South Loop which is probably the only Cameroonian restaurant in the entire city (?).

    They are also taking over the former Win Sing Supermarket aka Richwell Market at 1835 S Canal St across the river from Chinatown (which in a few years that area across the river closer to Cermak will probably become an extension of Chinatown ... :) ).

    Chick-Fil-A opening in Deerfield on Thursday November 14th. My initial love for this place faded long ago, but I still love the chicken biscuit. I can't see too many people in Deerfield going here for breakfast. This area was not raised on biscuits or chicken in the morning.

    It's amazing to me that they make over $4 million per restaurant on average (far higher than any other chain in the country (burgers, chicken, pizza, seafood, Mexican, etc.) in spite of being closed Sundays and people boycotting them. Portillo's which wasn't included on the Top 50 list makes an average of 9 million per store, with the biggest locations making around 17 million.

    Chick-Fil-A
    75 S Waukegan Rd
    Deerfield IL
    It is located across the street from Deerbrook Mall just south of Lake-Cook Rd; not on their property as Google says.
