It has been ages since we have had a great (or even VG) pizza here in Edgewater. Not since the fantastic little Piccolo Napoli on Clark closed. Now today I read in a letter to the editor in the Reader about Gino's North on Granville.

I have passed this place many times, but never thought it really was a place. It's located just east of the Granville El stop and never looks open or even viable. The aforementioned letter praises the pizza. My question: has anyone been there? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Salivatingly,
    Peggy

I think Gino’s North is very much worth visiting but, at least for me, not mainly because of the food. Here’s a link to a very old post of mine on Gino’s. I haven’t been back in a while but somehow I suspect little has changed.

Ok, technically it is not in Edgewater, but a stones throw away on Jarvis and and el-stop. Gruppo de Amice, supposedly hearth-baked pizzas. I haven't been there yet, but I drove by last week and it looks promising.
