3 of us went to 4 taste last Thursday, and it was great - just like the first time I tried it.
It's on N.Milwaukee Ave (#415) and the exterior belies the interior. The outside sorta looks like a biker bar, with wraught iron signs and a weird statue. Inside is more inviting, with low lights, comfy seats, and exposed brick walls.
Good wines on the list - can't remember them exactly but over my two visits I've had 5 or 6 glasses and they've all been just great.
Food is 10$ a plate, no matter what you get. 4 dishes was enough for 3 people (tho, one person was just 'picking').
Anyway, we had Buffalo Carpaccio, which was perfectly thin slices, served with tangy parmesan slivers, and a small salad. We also had the seared tuna (barely cooked on the outside - perfect) which came with roasted tomatoes and a light fruity glaze. Delicious. 3rd was lamb chops, which was comprised of 4 tiny chops with a grape/balsamic glaze. We cleaned the plate with the bread. The last thing, which was a bit heavy for summer, but good was the apple ravioli. Homemade pasta stuffed with apples and walnuts and a heavy cream sauce. Could have this for dessert.
(I had dessert the first time I want, with
spa_girl, and we shared the creme brulee tasting, which was an egg holder with each little divot filled with a different kind of CB: chocolate, earl grey, etc. Totally excellent.)
I really recommend this place! Plus there are 5$/25$ coupons on restaurant.com. (You have to pay in cash though, Tues-Thurs only).
Even if you don't have the coupon I think it's a fantastic deal.
