I was downtown this week and planned to have one of my favorite lunches, filet of sole at the Palmer House. When I arrived, I found the French Quarter to be totally blocked off. Being quite shocked and disappointed, I didn't think to inquire.
My Palmer House and love of the sole go way back: the coffee shop in the lower level (long shuttered), then the (sole) filet buffet in the lower level on Fridays (gone for about 2-3 years). Now with the FQ closed, that leaves just one restaurant in the PH, I believe. Not sure if it serves the fish.
Anybody know the story?
