I apologize in advance for posting this as I'm sure that there are other posts on Think Cafe. However the search function seems to return every post that includes the words think or cafe because the search function isn't that specific.

Can anyone give me the scoop on this place? I've mostly heard mixed reviews. I was thinking of taking some out-of-town guests there for dinner as the BYOB thing is really attractive (especially when they're looking to keep things afordable).

Understandable, Mellonhead. The secret of phpBB's not-that-great search function is: Click the little button that says "Search for all terms." Then both "think" and "cafe" have to be in the thread for it to show. It also wouldn't hurt to select, at left, Eating Out in Chicagoland as the only forum you want results from.

And... you still get 312 results on 7 pages. So then you think, what other word could I include? "Ashland," on the theory that anyone who did a full review would include the address. And that tells me... hmm, nobody seems to have written about it, at least not enough to start a thread.

    Quick and short review:
I have always had fantastic meals there, and is where April and I chose to take our families to celebrate our engagement.
The food is great, the service is attentive and it is a nice small dining room.

But, Mike, it's on Western. And if you use the Google method of searching this site, the first hit is this thread.

    Ta da!

Though if you use the Firefox Google Search Michael M (EatChicago) set up for LTH, with Think Cafe in parentheses "Think Cafe" you get JimInLoganSquare's Think Cafe thread.

Far as Think Cafe goes, never been, though there's a really good BBQ joint a few doors North called Honey 1.

    Enjoy,

GWiv: Thanks for the link! Just an aside - Dig the Honey 1 BBQ - Unfortunately they were featured on Check Please so they're off limits for the next couple of months (just too busy with all the people who want to try it).

I can never bring myself to go to Think because I can never bring myself to be that close to Honey 1 without getting ribs. It's an inescapable force of nature the likes of which Isaac Newton would be studying were he alive today.

Also, regarding the Check Please effect, I've gotten ribs there multiple times since they were on the show and it's always been manageable. I wouldn't advise putting it off any longer. ;)
