We are ordering out with a crowd of folks for New Year's from the Evanston location and wanted to know if anyone had any tips on must-have and can't-miss dishes.

Also any particularly kid-friendly dish recommendations would be appreciated.

My kids are partial to the banana creme freezes (no tapioca) though they have on occasion gone for the strawberry. Any of those drinks (and there are a lot to choose from), which are heavy on the whipped cream, will make the kids happy for a while. I don't know if these are must-haves, but we like (for delivery) the spring rolls, the spicy chicken wings, the thai spicy beef salad, and the lemon grass chicken, and fussy kids are usually happy with the chicken fried rice, I've found. Joy Yee's delivery in Evanston has been, for us, quick and reliable, though we've never tried on New Year's Eve.

I'm not a big fan of the food at Joy Yee, but the Mango Tapioca is my favorite drink at Joy Yee. Havent ate any food that I have found memorable at Joy Yee.

I concur. The JoyYee in China town has the best tapioca drinks. Thier food can't hold a candle to KenKee

JoyYee's was a welcome addition to the Evanston scene when I lived there 4-5 years ago. It was certainly better than Lulu's anyway. When I do return to JoyYee's I enjoy their lemon grass chicken wings, beef satay udon or seafood udon, and the seafood bake in the wooden box.
