My husband and I will be in Des Plaines this morning for a golf thing. We were planning on trying Paradise Pup for the first time, and then heading out to Dekalb for a Mother's Day tea. I just checked the address and found out they are closed on Sundays.

We are leaving the house by 9:30 this morning. If any one can recommend a place that is a non chain for a quick bite - we would be ever so grateful.

    Thanks

Falafel Inn is a fairly new place (only a couple months old) on the corner of Oakton and Elmhhurst in Des Plaines that mirrors the menu of Pita Inn... I actually like the meat at Falafel Inn better than Pita Inn as the owner uses more unique spices than the blander Pita Inn. The negative I found compared to Pita Inn was the sauces are more watered down and not as tasty at Falafel Inn.

abe_froeman commented in this thread on the spices:
Falafel Inn uses a great mixture of spices (cumin, cinnamon and nutmeg, mainly) that Pita Inn doesn't.
