Sunday we had a chance to try Unrban Grille which opened recently in the new Staton Building at the corner of 6th and State in Geneva. The place advertises a wood fired grill and it is very evident as you approach and enter by the smells of smoke. The room has a clean look, a small bar in the front and an open kitchen with the dining area to the right. I'm not sure if the open kitchen works because all we could hear were the all Mexican crew talking loudly in Spanish, one even treated us to song. The food that we saw on the plates of others looked good, especially the 6" stack of cheese and tomatoes that was the Capreze sandwich. Burgers and pizza cooked over the wood fire are their specialties but there are a number of seafood options as well. The burgers are the clear choice and come with a huge selection of variations. First you select your burger by the size, 1/3 pound up to 1-1/2 pound. Then there are 5 buns options, 10+ chesse options, topping options and sauce options. 2 cheeses and 2 other items come with, certain toppings were considered "premium" and had an upcharge. I choose the 1/3 lb. with a regular white bun, mushrooms, blue cheese and a chipotle mayo. The burger can also be salmon, veggie or buffalo, mine was 100% angus. My partner had the salmon. All meals came with a mixed greens salad with yellow & red small tomatoes, fries were 4.95 but the serving is generous and served in a mini deep fryer basket, we didn't try but saw many have it. There is a small patio which was full due to the nice day. What we had was very good the only problem was the service which was almost laughable. The servers seemed totally confused about what they should be doing and spent a lot of time standing around and talking about what they should be doing, at one point 4 of them stood by the front door looking at people coming in while waiting for the hostess to return. Hopefully the service issue will work out, although it was bad it didn't detract from a good meal.

Found this place last night completely by accident - IMO the best way to find a restaurant. My original dining choice was a grilled chicken sandwich at the Cougars game. But the rain put that idea away.

The Favorite Dining Companion and I cruised the neighborhood and she spotted UG. The menu met her approval so we went in.

The description of the place up thread is accurate. Although I'll add that the bathroom is quite nice. Our server was very friendly and our food came out promptly. FDC had a salmon burger and I had the Chopped Salad. Both were tasty and quite filling.
