I passed the Super Cup diner on the West Lawrence bus the other day, and was intrigued. It looked pretty much like a standard diner, but a sign promised homemade blintzes.

I searched around here, of course, but an initial search yielded nothing (I later thought to search on "Supercup" as one word, and found some mentions). So, off to the google search I went, and I found Super Cup mentioned in various places, including menupages.

This intrigued me, becuase I cannot figure out what on earth it could be a typo for:
Pancakes--Served with Butter, Syrup and Squid with Sundried Sugar

I will ask an OT and sensible question: has anyone eaten the homemade blintzes there? Are they good?

Do they really put calamari on the pancakes? And what on earth are "Hosk bean pastries" that the online menu says comes with the steak and eggs?

    Mimi,

I have eaten there on numerous occasions (although, since discovering Patty's Diner, it's been far less often than it used to be). Super Cup is a pretty much straight ahead Greek diner serving all the standards prepared in a workmanlike manner. The blintzes sign is relatively new and I have not yet tried them, but based on their other food, I have a hard time believing that they are homemade rather than "food service made".

I was afraid of that. Thanks.

And no squid on the pancakes either, I am guessing.

My uncle was the original owner of the Super Cup years ago - but he got smart, sold out, and retired in the late 80s. :D

I'd be astounded if they were anything other than food service.
