My mom's friend raves about the authentic Italian cuisine at Amore Mio Restaurant in Hoffman Estates. Has anyone ever dined there? Any recommendations? Their website is nice.

    Thanks in advance.

    My Review:
I had some of the best food I have ever eaten. The tuna crudo was amazing and so, so fresh. The strawberry salad was bursting with color and flavor. The porcini tortellini was cooked to absolute perfection ( it came with a black truffle pesto tomato cream sauce. The bus girls were great and majorly attentive, constantly cleaning the table and changing all of the silverwear and side dishes with each course that came out.

That sounds really irritating. I'd rather sit waist-deep in crumbs than have someone clearing them away every couple of minutes. That's just me.

I must of drove by this place over a dozen times, I finally took a chance and went for dinner w/ my wife.

It was outstanding. We started w/ some raw kumamoto oysters w/ granita. I was kind of skeptical at first, but when Chef Antonio brought it out, I knew it was going to be memorable. They were the best oysters I have ever had.

We then had a persimmon salad w/ cranberries and gorgonzola, again outstanding.

For are entree's, we had a homemade ravioli stuffed w/ ground turkey and dried cranberries in a roasted corn cream sauce. My wife had pumpkin ravioli in a balsamic cream sauce. Outstanding.

I will go back many times, I want to try some of there fish specials. :D

This place sounds like it has potential; I checked out their site, though, and it's odd, when they have a "gallery" that includes shots of nothing but tables, chairs and exteriors. How about some gorgeous shots of food? It seems like those who design such sites are probably not people with much interest in food. Maybe that's not surprising...

When I was there, they had an Andrea Bocelli dvd playing. It was like a concert, while dining.

Look who made the paper for best entree.

    http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=109679

    I was there Friday night.

    Some of the homade pasta:

Basil and whole wheat pasta manicotti w/ 4 cheeses

Veal and vegetable ravioli alla saltimboca ( baked w/ garlic, sage, pancetta and fresh mozzarella

Italian sausage and roasted red beet ravioli in a sweet onion fresh tomato sauce

Porcini mushroom ravioli in a tomato cream sauce w/ black truffle pesto

Home grown pumpkin ravioli in a balsamic vinager cream sauce.

I will be going back for more, if i can get in.
