Post #1 - March 18th, 2008, 7:21 amTook this boards rec and went to Avec when arriving Saturday night. Exceptional. Great food, wine, atmosphere, people. Have a free day today before 5PM flight out, no idea when will return. Learned much about Alinea, Schwa, etc while here -- but could not go. Ideas for a cool send off lunch? And BTW, thank you all for Avec!

Post #3 - March 18th, 2008, 8:05 amYeah, happy with fine dining or not fine dining. Open to classic Chicago things. Pizza, Italian Beef. We're downtown. I know it's a very broad question, but we're 4 guys and hungry and will drink (good beer or good wine depending) so where would YOU send us?

Post #4 - March 18th, 2008, 8:19 amI love doing lunch at Cafe Spiaggia on N. Michigan. Also the Gage is great for lunch. I know a lot of people here aren't a fan of Petterino's, but my fiancee had a great lunch here yesterday.
