On the way back from Honey-1 tonight, I noticed
El Jibaro, at 1432 N. Western. Large "Grand Opening" banner unfurled. Scant Google hits mention its existence as early as late January, at least for inspection purposes:

The menu is Puerto Rican plus some standard American grill fare. I had an order of sweet plantains to go (dessert) which were ripe and very competently cooked, served with one tub of sweet cream and another of garlic oil, but I gathered this is not a usual order (it wasn't really on the main menu as a stand-alone item). A jibarito with rice is on the menu for $5.75; I'm a non-traditionalist, and loathe American cheese on any sandwich, and they said they could substitute for me when I was ready to take the plunge, a nice touch.
Please merge into existing content if I've missed other mentions - can't find anything searching on the address or name in quotes, and "jibaro" simply returns cuisine descriptor hits in other contexts.
