    Hey guys

I'm having people over tonight for the fight and I wanted to pick up some good tamales. I'd like a variety of green and red, pork and chicken and of course my favorite the cheese and pepper. I live near Belmont and Ashland and don't feel like traveling too far I'd say Humboldt Park area would be the farthest. What are some recomendations for a good, moist light and reasonably inexpensive tamale? Also, I remember a post somewhere a couple weeks ago about a Bahena Tamale place opening up. Anything on that?

here is a recent thread about them...if you can make the drive, la casa del pueblo, has the best at a very good price. Might want to call and reserve them though, its Saturday. Also with weather like it is, if you took a drive around a Mexican populated neighborhood your almost guaranteed to find a lady selling hers somewhere....try the front of grocers and heavily populated foot traffic areas, like the park or a buy corner.

    CG,

I'd recommend Tamales los mejores de Guerrero on N Clark, moist, light, verging on fluffy, inexpensive and tasty.

I think there's a guy who sells from a cart outside the store at Belmont and Cali. Not sure he's there past noon. I would also suggest La Casa del Pueblo, but it's further from where you want to go. I'm sure you could find a jimenez, or a tony's at least, or a standard mexican grocer that will have at the very least some "pancho's" products.
