I need a restaurant reccomendation, I have a co worker in from NYC , and the people in my office who dedcide on where to take out of towners always take people to DECERO. I love the food at DECERO but I am tired of going to the same place. If any one has a favorite spot in or around the Randolph street area please send reccomendations. Thank You in advance.

    Hands down, Blackbird.

If you don't mind the possibility of a wait, Avec.

Avec, Meiji, Starfish, Izumi, Blackbird, and, if you go far out enough, onesixtyblue should all be excellent choices. I'd avoid Dragonfly. Red Light is nice for atmosphere but, except for the desserts, the food isn't spectacular. I'm not a fan of Sushi Wabi, Tomato Head, or Jim Ching.

Also, just a block or two away, Otom.

    For lunch, Blackbird.

For dinner, one sixtyblue, my favorite casual fine dining restaurant in the entire city. (Blackbird's a good second choice if you can't get into one sixtyblue.)

+1 for Otom & onesixtyblue. Also, depending on your budget, time allowance, and guest tastes, you might think about Moto.

Two other nice places in that vicinity, not yet mentioned, are Sepia and Powerhouse. Both are open for lunch as well as dinner.

It's just off Randolph but you might consider Le Sardine, where you can have both a nice meal AND a conversation. The bouilliabaisse is quite good. I also like that the bar stocks Snow Queen vodka which makes for an exceptionally smooth vodka martini. Nothing groundbreaking or trendy, just a solid representation of French bistro cooking with pleasant and unobtrusive service in a nice setting.
