tako wasabi

does anyone know a japanese restaurant in the chicagoland area that serves this dish?!

I tried it recently on a trip to san diego and am craving it... but cannot seem to find it on the menus of any izakaya style japanese restaurants.

For those who don't know, it's raw octopus in little pieces in wasabi sauce... it's sooo yummy!

Sushi Kushi Toyo in Lake Forest makes it as an appetizer; I'm not sure if it's on the menu, but they've had it every time I've been there. I'd call first to see if they have it that day. There's a sister restaurant in Highland Park (Sushi Kushi Too), but I don't know if they serve tako wasabi.

I couldn't agree with you more - it's the greatest dish I've ever had at a Japanese restaurant (and I AM Japanese). In fact, whenever I go there, I order two of them for myself!

The only downside is that it's a loooooong drive from where I live to Lake Forest. It is worth it, though! It's been a while since I had it. Thanks, Lynda - now I have the craving, too!
