Quite simply, the brisket taco (with flour tortilla, not corn) from the legendary spot Mia's in Dallas, TX is the best thing i've ever had the distinct honor of ingesting.

I have found no such mention of this food of the Gods anywhere in Chicago. Please tell me that I am wrong.

You are correct (except occasionally at my house), but mine are made with BBQ brisket while Mia's meat I find to be very similar to a mild Ropa Viejo.

I have never experienced these tacos in Chicago, but I eat something similar every Saturday at the farmer's market in Holland, Michigan at the Ray Tamale King stand. Its called the taco loco- flour tortilla, beans, brisket, cilantro, onion, and a chile based red salsa. So if you're ever in southwest Michigan, this version is dynamite.

I just had brisket tacos at On The Border, a mexican food chain, in Vernon Hills and they were excellent.

Brisket Tacos along with Que and Chicken Fried Steak are a few things I miss about DFW. I enjoyed mine at the Taco Diner in Las Colinas which is owned by the Mi Concina folks.

A carne guisada stand would be killer. I've never had these in Chicago but I will definitely post if I find 'em.

I just enjoyed brisket tacos last week in DF-dubs! Had them at Cantina Laredo (although with corn tortillas) and they did not disappoint. Yum! Also, thanks to Marshall K for the Taco Diner tip. I'm in Las Colinas pretty often and am always looking for someplace new and local to try.

I realize I am resurrecting an old post, but Cantina Laredo has opened a Chicago location complete with brisket tacos on the menu. I haven't been to the Chicago location yet, but being from Dallas I've eaten there many times...and was shocked to see it turn up here!
