Celebrating our 18th anniversary tomorrow... we're either going bikeriding through the Arboretum or doing one of the northern suburb beaches during the day. I know Mondays are normally not a great night for going out for dinner, so can anyone help with some suggestions for dining al fresco in the west suburbs or in the city? We enjoy a nice environment without being stuffy & good food & vino!! Maybe a prix fix menu??

I'm sorry no one answered your query.

I feel as if there must be nice places to sit outdoors in the Nperville area, but you probably already know them, being nearby. Maybe look at LAZ's list?

If you could stop by Glenview on your way down from the beaches, I just read in the Herald entertainment section that Cafe Lucci has a single table outside. They have very good food, wine and old-school service, great for a romantic evening. I would call (847-729-2268) to see about this outdoor table thing, though. I was there last week and can't imagine where it was.

Anyway, Happy Anniversary! At least you got decent weather for your outing.

Thanks for the reply..... plans didn't exactly turned out as expected, but all in all, it was a great day. Glencoe Beach (our favorite) has been closed since 7/22 because of high bacteria levels, so that idea was scratched. We ended up staying local.... had a wonderful lunch at Meson Sabika in Naperville. Then decided to enjoy the comforts of our own home.... hot tub, hammock, playing backgammon, drinking wine & then made a wonderful dinner of grilled halibut with fresh tarragon from the garden, bleu cheese encrusted filet mignon, zucchini & fresh sweet corn. Hubby is now settled in front of the TV with remote in hand. Time to go finish the vino & enjoy the chocolate mousse!!
