Living in Beverly, while idyllic at times can lead to alot of "bleh" dining episodes. For pizza however, there is a new stalwart...Tata's pizza, on 111th. While almost exclusively a takeout/delivery place, they do have a beautiful new backroom for parties. This my now defacto pizza in the area, and while as with any small operation, can be uneven...it has never been anything less than very good. Tonight however, they hit it out of the park...I went for the Potato crust (kinda deep dish) pepperoni pizza. Their crust isn't of the malnati's/uno's variety...and no clue where the potato is, but more "bready" with a perfect garlic undertone. Perhaps the best part of this pie however is the outside crust...mahogany brown, chewy garlicy inners, and dipped into the just over-added, perfectly balanced between acid/sweet sauce, with the salty spicy pepperoni renderings. Had to make myself stop eating, twice, so far tonight. The owner and the two other staff (great guy and fiance I believe), all are super friendly and willing to talk pizza to cars...just extremely cool. One other note...during the summer they began experimenting with Italian Ice, and after trying both Lemon and Blueberry (with lemon base), while not Mario's, were both refreshing and a great addition to this neighborhood, or many I would surmise. I had even more to say earlier about Tata's, but the computer overthrew my discourse. But I would say TRY! I guess after the ramblings it might need to be moved to a new thread, but needed to share.
