So as I said we ended up going to Miller's on Thursday night. We were staying at the Palmer House Hilton so it was nice to be able to walk out the side door and Miller's was right next door. It was packed but we only waited 10 minutes for a table. As mentioned they had high chairs. Though I didn't see many kids there, there was one other couple with a 2-ish year old as well.
They actually had a kids menu too. Typical fare, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, and mac and cheese. We ordered some mac and cheese for our son and my wife and I each ordered a cheeseburger. I was planning on the Greek Burger but I just had a taste for a bleu cheese burger so I went for that.
The waitress must have had experience with kids because our order came out super fast. The burgers were very good, perfectly cooked to medium rare, nice bun, and pretty decent fries. I really liked their slaw too. However after a couple of bites our kid, who has only melted down only once at a restaurant in almost 2 years, starts melting down here. We tried to keep him occupied with snacks, toys, etc but could tell that he was going to be a disturbance so my wife packed him up and brought him back to the hotel. One thing I never want to be is that family that has no problem ruining everyone elses dinner because they don't want to deal with a kid who is freaking out. The waitress put all of our stuff in to-go containers and I finished my beer. It was Stone Brewing Arrogant Bastard week, so they had a couple of them on tap so I started with a regular Arrogant Bastard and planed on trying a Double Bastard or an Oaked Arrogant Bastard next but was obvioulsly derailed by the meltdown.
We enjoyed the rest of the meal in our hotel room.
I really liked the ambiance of the place. It was bustling with activity and there was quite a diverse crowd, from a couple of punk-rocker kids to dudes in suits. I'd love to go back if only to drink at the bar. Great beer selection to boot. Again, the waitress was awesome given the circumstances.
