We had tickets to see "Harry Connick A Holiday Celebration" at the Chicago Theater. Well the show was great as are alll things New Orleans IMHO. But things are tight and we needed a reasonable venue for dinner. My partner works Downtown so 5:30-6:00 was what we were looking for. SO I consulted the Theater's website for Suggestions as well as all of yours as I puruse this board almost daily. Found on the website "The Great Street Restuarant and Bar". And I thought i have never heard of this place, well looking closer I saw it was the restaurant for the Marriot Renaissance on Wacker and State. So I Clicked on thier website and found the theater package wich was $99 per couple for a three course dinner, and a bottle of house wine! so after checking with my other half who said "book it Dano!" (he's such a dork lol) I called to make reservations and to verify the offer. Well the hostess informed me it also included Valet Parking! I thought this must be just for the duration of dinner, but she told me no for 8 hours. So I thought What a deal.
We arrived 10 minutes early but were seated right away. The restuarant is on the second floor of the hotel, with beautiful views overlooking Wacker and State. We started with Martinis, Chopin up with olives for me and Tanquery 10 up with Blue Cheese Olives for my Partner.
I chose for my first course: Seared Rare Ahi Tuna -Wakame Salad, Srircha
Partner had:Giant Rigatoni - Grilled Asparagus, Smoked Bacon, Shaved Reggiano Parmesan
I like mine, everything was very fresh, He said he could have eaten a main course portion of his.

For entree we both Chose Grilled Ribeye Steak - Roasted Potatoes, Crispy Bacon, Sweet corn, pearl Onions and Haricot Verts.
Steak was cooked probably, not a huge steak but enough to be full after dinner. Potatoes were regular and purple finglering. Sweet corn was a few grilled nibblets thrown on plate as more a garnish. Haricot Verts were just regular green beans but cooked nicely. Loved the carmalized pearl onions.

For desert we both chose Bourbon Peach Cobbler-Caramel Ice cream. We both loved it. Wine was a choice of Cabernet, Merlot or Chardonnay Vineyard being BV. We went with Cabernet.

With tip and tax dinner was $145 total. I think tax on package was included in the $99 so bill was $120 and being in the industry I tip 20%.

All in all, a very nice dinner with beautiful views and very convienant to Chicago Theater, if not for parking alone. Service was very nice and friendly.

never been to the restaurant, but I will concur that that was one heck of a show! And your pre-theater dinner must have been better than mine.
