So you have to pick where you want to redeem it (from 42 Chicagoland locations). Anyone have opinions on the "best" choice?

I noticed Central Gyros was on the list. That would be my choice from among the in-city choices.

I tried Outdoor Grill today (which is neither outdoors, nor has a grill). Do not recommend their soggy gyros.

Soggy, that describes the weak excuse I had for a gyros at West of Edens earlier in the week. Mealy mushy meat, oil based taziki facsimile, neutered white onion haphazardly rolled in thick lifeless pita.

I miss K & Q's too but there were never the same since they went to portion control. Bye Bye monster gyros.

I'll be using my coupon at Ariston in Hazelcrest. It's a good option, but not my favorite in the area. That would be Perros Bros. in Chicago Heights, but I didn't see them on the list.

Got there a little after 11:00. Since my sandwich was free, I splurged for a overpriced side order of onion rings. I didn't have high expectations as I've had the gyros before. Overall, a decent sandwich. IMO, Hubs on Dempster makes a better one. For free, I have no right to complain. The onion rings, eh?

As I was leaving at 11:30, the lot was filling up. Most people walking in were clutching their free coupons. It kind of reminded me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

12:15 the line was out the door at Denegeos. It looked like a lot of people had the coupons. Went and had chicken at Browns ehhh.

Went to the health club and then over to The Works at Franklin and Van Buren around noon to cover any calories I might have burrned. :D

What was I thinking? Noon? Line was a block and half long! And growing. Walked sadly by.

Hit up Dengeos in Buffalo Grove approx 12:30; line out the door but it moved fast. It took five minutes to get up to the counter. The gyros was a little skimpier than usual but free is free. Opa!

lol - I have two places on that list less than 1/8th of a mile away from each other. The better place had a line out the door, the worse place had four cars in the lot. I'm going to try the good place again in a few minutes. They were not accepting phone orders for coupon users. The bad place uses the cheaper, foamier, gyro meat. Free is not worth it.
