El-Lars Elegant Cookies

El-Lars has been in business over twenty years but I only recently stopped in for the first time.





Inside it's very cozy and friendly. A few sandwiches are available but it's really all about the cookies.



Counterclockwise from center: oatmeal-raisin, pecan, peanut butter, sugar, sugar-dusted pecan. All are home style and very good but the plain pecan cookies were the standouts for me. I enjoyed the oatmeal and peanut butter cookies a lot too. Prices are quite reasonable: about fifty cents for regular size and about a dollar for large. Next time you're in the area for barbecue or whatever, consider stopping by to pick up a few for dessert.
