With all the Polish/Bohemian/German etc restaurants in the burbs, do any of them still serve liver dumpling soup? I loved it as a kid and haven't had it in probably over 20 years....this could end up like the Green River pop I remembered so fondly. And boy was I off base ;-)

I think Klas always has liver dumpling soup on the menu. I like it but think the dumpling is better than the broth (and their soups aren't always as hot as they should be). Their rye bread, baked in house, is very good.

I've also enjoyed it at Czech Plaza but I'm not sure if it's offered every day.

    Have it on the menu.

I don't believe they have changed the recipe for it in the past 20 years at Czech Plaza ( http://czechplaza.com/czechplazamenu.html )

I can't also recall it not being one of the daily soup options.

I've had a damn respectable version at Laschet's. Can't remember which day of the week it was though...

I second the mention of Laschet's liver dumpling soup; good dumpling, average broth, and great on a cold day with the sausage appetizers and a German draft.

Edelweiss in Norridge has it. My family loves this place, and I think their liver dumpling soup is really quite tasty. I usually get a small cup before my entree. If all you want is liver dumpling soup...you can get a large bowl for $6.95.

They are now open on Mondays as well:
    Mon 11-9pm
    Tues 11-9pm
    Wed 11-9pm
    Thurs 11-9pm
    Fri 11-10pm
