This afternoon I stopped at this fairly new place for lunch. They started out with coffee in late summer but were adding some food in October. Unfortunately, the food is a submarine-type sandwich with good fillings but a limp roll with soft crust and a couple of packaged sweet items. They pose no threat to Riviera a bit over half a mile to the north.
Espresso ($1.50 for a single), on the other hand, was worth getting. Good crema and rich enough to chew without that scorched Starbucks flavor. This stretch has been lacking in that department since Caffe Italia burned down. Now if they only had gelati.
